Cecil smiled as he once again saved another girl.
“No problem beautiful. Saying a girl such as you is reward enough.” Cecil said as he walked away, feeling the girl slip something in his pocket.
He smiled wider. He loved doing this… Save on girl, get a house for a week, save two he could probably stretch that to a month. He laughed to himself, this was the life! He had found out that he couldn’t inherit his family’s name or anything until he had turned twenty… That sucked… So now he was just hustlin and using his looks and skills to get what he wanted when he wanted. He dropped his “Cool guy” act and went on neutral.
‘Let’s see, tonight I may go to Sinclair’s house. She ‘d be happy to ee the one who saved her from drowning.’ Cecil thought as his purple eyes sanned the streets of London.
He could never get used to this scenery. People coule be getting raped, sold, or even murdered and not one would know! He grew up in these same streets so he should know. Riku was brought out of his muse when he had bumped into someone. His “Cool guy” act came back into place.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going? Are you injured in any way?” He asked with a smile.

(OOC: Yup, Naze confirmed it now let's get this rp rolling^^) The young heir to the Sinclair household was striding down the streets of London with a tight grip around his nanny’s arm, forcing her to lead the way faster than she already did. His whole body was shaking from the intense anger he felt within and his teeth were gritted. Under normal circumstances he would not have dared to walk this fast, knowing how slippery the streets were during the winter, but right now he was too occupied with thinking of other more important matters to actually take this into consideration. Nathan was pissed to say the least. Not only did his uncle continue to claim that Nathan was too young to lead the CSC, now he had also been making arrangements to sell the company to one of his oh so beloved influential friends, claiming that the firm was on its way towards bankruptcy and that he was actually doing Nathan a favor. Favor my ASS, you egocentric, bald, stupid, impotent, pathetic excuse of a man! Nathan felt the strongest urge to go to his uncle’s house and actually throw these insults, and much more if he had his way, right into his face – breaking his uncle’s nose in the process would surely feel most satisfying. Nevertheless he managed to restrain himself. If he did such a thing he would just justify his uncle’s reasons for calling him a child, and he would have no chance to reclaim ownership of the firm within the next ten years. No, there were other and better ways to deal with this problem and Nathan had already initiated his counter moves. A smirk spread across his face, giving the handsome young man a somewhat demonic look, and without knowing it he scarred the nearby passengers. He could not wait to see the shocked look on his uncle’s face when his plan unfolded. See the shocked look on his face? Nathan suddenly stopped and almost caused his nanny to fall in the process. He would not be able to see it. He could not be allowed to. Instead he would have to be satisfied with imagining his uncle’s face after hearing his surprised gasp. Yes, that would have to do. Nathan could not help but feel a little disappointed, though he knew that there was nothing he could do about it. At best he might be able to get his nanny to explain what his uncle’s face had looked like, but it would never be the same. “Young Master?” Hannah’s old pained voice finally reached Nathan’s ears and realizing what he was doing, he immediately let go of her arm. He turned towards her and smiled apologetically, being truly embarrassed of how he had let his emotions get the better of him. “I’m sorry, Nanny. I did not mean to hurt you. Let us proceed towards the mansion in a more…” A loud “Uff” escaped Nathan’s lips as he was suddenly interrupted in his speech, when someone bumped right into him. It did not seem to really hurt but it was still enough to throw the unprepared young nobleman off balance and he fell right into the arms of his nanny, who luckily enough managed to catch him before he ended his anything but graceful crash. For a long moment Nathan was mute as he tried to figure out what exactly had just happened, and he barely heard the stranger’s apologies. His nanny on the other hand did. The elderly woman actually giggled like a young girl in love, when she looked at the handsome actor in front of her. “Oh no it’s quite alright. It was an accident after all. The young Master has survived worse than this,” Hannah responded as if Cecil was actually talking to her. She kept starring at him and his face, and seemed to have forgotten all about Nathan, who struggled to get away from his nanny’s grasp. When he finally managed to he brushed invisible dust off his sleeves and tried to gather all the dignity he could manage before he glanced at the young actor, without actually being able to see him. “I’m FINE, thank you. Now where is that cane,” he mumbled the last sentence, realizing he had accidentally dropped his cane in all his confusion. He was arguing whether he should bend down or not in an attempt to find it or have his nanny do it. Unfortunately for him Hannah was more occupied with looking at Cecil than her master’s problems.

Cecil smiled at the older woman and turned his attention more to the male he had bumped into. He looked to be a little shorter than himself though. He snickered a bit. The boy was trying really hard to get out of the older woman’s hold on him. He almost looked like a young child in that state.
‘A cute one to.’ Cecil thought as he woman spoke.
A Young Master? Oh, so he was a rich one? Cecil’s smile never once flattered as the older woman spoke to him. All he heard was blah blah blah from her to be honest. HE wanted to know if the latter was fine. He looked at the shorter and seemed to notice for the first time, the cloth that hung in front of his eyes.
‘ Why is that on his eyes? Is he blind or something?’ Cecil thought before the Young Master spoke with a slight yell in his voice.
Oh, so he was fine? That made him feel a little better, but he was still a little worried. He seemed to drop the “Cool guy” and go to “Caring guy”. Since when was the last time he had gone into that one? Too long. Cecil looked around on the ground and picked up the other’s cane and handed it to him.
“Here you are Young Master… I’m Cecil by the way. It’s nice to meet you and your… maid?” Cecil said with his smile growing wider.
He shivered at the sudden wind that blew. It was getting colder by the minute. Guess he wouldn’t be going to Sinclair’s house now… HE had another one by here that a very young(ooc: Andrina, isn’t she nice?) female almost male looking noble had let him have one. If only she were older, he would have swayed her too, but alas he could not.
“ If your two will excuse me? unless you want to come with me. Though It may not be what you are used to, its far better than braving against the elements.” Cecil thought as he turned to walk in the direction of his house.

Nathan was beginning to become desperate. He needed his cane if he wanted to walk at least just a little independently. And to top it all he was becoming embarrassingly aware of the fact that the small episode had become a stain on his cool façade – and that there seemed to be nothing he could do about it. I guess the least I can do is take it as a man.
That was when he heard Cecil speaking once again, seeming to have found his cane. Nathan breathed a sigh of relief and tried to judge from the direction of Cecil’s voice where he would be most likely to hold his cane. Was he a bit taller than Nathan? The young noble was not entirely sure, though his voice did seem to come from a higher position than his own mouth. Taking a moment to calculate he finally held out his hand and before long managed to grab the cane in front of him.
“Thank you very much, Cecil,” he said in a significantly gentler tone this time, giving the young actor one of his most charming smiles. “And yes, this woman is indeed my… maid.” He did not intend to reveal that he was actually walking around with his nanny, as that only seemed to be something children would do. And just then it struck him. Was this not yet another reason for his uncle to call him a child? Nathan silently cursed himself. He would have to do something about that later, though, unfortunately the amount of people he dared trust with the task of leading him around town could be counted on one hand. He needed to think of some kind of alternative. In the meantime Hannah had continued starring at Cecil in awe and slightly whispered what Nathan caught to be something like “almost as pretty as the Young Master.” Nathan rolled with his eyes underneath his blindfold at the older love struck woman. No wonder she had not made any attempt to properly help him out. Nathan decided to show Cecil some of his good will. Though he had caused his embarrassing experience he had also been kind enough to return his cane – that was at least worth something.
“I am Nathaniel Sinclair. Nice to make you acquaintance… Cecil,” Nathan hesitated, not sure how to properly address the young man in front of him. He would normally have gone with “sir” but it somehow sounded odd in his ears, and in the end he had decided not to. Still something sounded familiar by that name, which made him wonder from where he could possibly had heard of him. He did not have much time to think, however, before the young actor spoke once again.
Nathan smiled in response. It was a generous offer coming from a stranger, but he did not plan to accept it. His own house could not be far from here anyway. He was about to open his mouth to decline but Hannah turned out to be just a little faster. “My, that would be lovely, don’t you agree Young Master?”
Nathan glared at his nanny so fiercely that his gaze almost burned its way through his blindfold. What was the old woman up to now? There had been a somewhat demanding tone in her voice, as if she was trying to make it clear to him that if he dared to decline the offer he was in for trouble. The two, master and servant, had a short starring contest, pathetic as it might have seemed as they were not really able to look at each other. Nathan refused to give in. What kind of master would he be to take orders from his own servant! Then the cold facts started creeping up on him. Hannah was going to be his guide home. If she decided she wanted to go with Cecil then that did not leave him much of a choice. Of course Nathan did not like to see it that way.
“Yes, that would indeed be preferable. We would not want to risk running into a snowstorm on our way home now would we?” he said with a smile on his face, though he was actually still secretly glaring at his nanny. He would have to get back at her somehow, but he was not sure how to do it without making her really mad at him – which would not make his own situation any better.
“Give me your arm, Hannah,” he then demanded, holding out his hand as he knew that he would need help in order to find his was to this house Cecil had mentioned. Letting his nanny have her way now and then could not be that bad… could it?

‘Nathaniel Sinclair? Such a fitting name for some such as himself.’ Cecil thought as he noticed the pause in Sinclair’s words.
It sounded like confusion in what to call him. Either that or he was fighting an old habit. He turned back at the sound of the maid’s voice. He almost laughed at the sudden tone she had taken with Nathaniel. It was more commanding than pleading!
‘Wasn’t it supposed to be the other way around?’ Cecil thought as he turned back to the duo.
Nathaniel seemed to be angry at The maid for some reason. He could tell for the air hand taken a slight change. He didn’t mean the wind. It was like he was angry. Then again, he might have been. Cecil would be angry too if his maid had suddenly told him what to do. Cecil almost lost his façade when he saw Nathaniel smile. Why did he have to be so damn cute?! He cleared his throat a little when Nathaniel had told the maid to give him her arm. Hannah looked as though she had barely heard him. Cecil sighed and grabbed Nathaniel’s hand at the woman’s slight hesitation. It was just going to get colder and he didn’t want to freeze to death. That and it would look bad if Nathaniel had passed out on him or something. He held out his arm to Hannah, expecting her to take it as he began to walk to his home. To get there fast, they had to cut across the slum like state of London. That was good because half of them were scared of him and the other half respected him. He smiled as he began to walk through it.
“Stay quiet and if anyone says anything to you, just let me talk.” Cecil said as they went through the alley way.

He had been expecting to be offered an arm to his aid but instead a hand grabbed his own. Well, if Hannah wanted to guide him that way it would work out just fine as well. Except that he would be looking like a child, holding hands with his grandmother which was not exactly to his liking. Unfortunately, with the love struck state his nanny was in right now, it would appear to be pretty much impossible to knock some common sense into her head. At least he could hope that his blindfold would clear up most of the misunderstanding. Why am I putting up with this? He kept asking himself that question but was unable to find an answer.
Something seemed odd, however. The hand holding his felt bigger and warmer than his nanny’s. It was nothing like the old woman’s fragile, wrinkled old hand. It was strong and strangely enough it made Nathan feel safe – and unconsciously that made Nathan hold on to the hand even tighter. He had never tried that before. Not with his nanny. Suddenly a chill ran down his spine. This was NOT his nanny’s hand! And judging from the lack of other possibilities there were it had to be Cecil’s.
Nathan’s hand started to shake slightly and he bit his lip, trying to calm the chaos of emotions within him. He normally only let a selected few people touch him, as contact with other human beings made him nervous and recall bad memories of his past. Relax! It’s not his hand! Not HIS! He did his best to control his own breathing, not wanting to suddenly faint in the middle of the street or cause any kind of commotion. There was nothing to be afraid of. He was perfectly safe here. His nanny was close by and there was no way that she would ever let anyone touch him, if it was not safe no matter how charmed she might be. At least that was what he was trying to convince himself – and it worked.
Nathan had been too occupied with his own thoughts to actually notice where they were going. How much he had actually struggled to keep his calm never really showed on his face, a result of years of practice from his side and he walked with a straight back and his head held high. He was going to let Cecil guide his way for now at least. If he did poorly and became the cause of another fall, however, he was going to face hell. Hannah had long ago taken Cecil up on the offer and was walking arm in arm with the young actor, literally clinging to him. Nathan was not aware of this though.
A peculiar smell reached his nose, causing Nathan to arch an eyebrow. Where in the world is he taking us? It seemed to come from a mixture of rot, increments and something else Nathan did not even dare to guess what was. Suspicion started gnawing its way to his mind, and it became even worse after hearing Cecil’s words.
“Is this the slums?” Nathan bended closer to Cecil and whispered his question, being fairly sure that he was not going to like the answer. That was when someone suddenly grabbed his coat and pulled him backwards, making Nathan instinctively grab Cecil’s arm with his other hand for support. He did not intend to let himself fall again especially not in this dirty, smelly street.
“Please, spare some coins for a hungry soul.” The rusty old voice apparently came from an elderly man. Nathan could not have cared less about the beggar, unfortunately this beggar did not seem reluctant to let go of his coat anytime soon. What the hell!?

Cecil smiled as he felt Nathaniel squeeze his hand. Maybe he didn’t know that it was his maid’s hand yet? He looked over towards the maid… he hadn’t the heart to shake her off. She was cutting off the blood flow in his arm slightly. His head darted back when he felt Nathaniel’s hand start to shake.
‘Is he cold?’ Cecil thought as he walked a little faster.
He didn’t want to walk too fast as he would probably make Nathaniel fall. He didn’t want that happening. That would mean that he would have to carry Nathaniel… not that he would mind… He wouldn’t be able to with the maid’s death grip on his arm. Soon Cecil’s nose was filled with the slum smell. He could tolerate it because he was used to it. Though he wasn’t too sure about Nathaniel or Hannah. He felt Nathaniel lean towards him. Was it the slums? He knew that Nathaniel; wasn’t going to like the answer but…
“Yes, I’m sorry, but its that fastest way to get out of the cold.” Cecil said before he felt Nathaniel grab his arm tightly.
He stopped wondering what the problem was, but looked down and saw a beggar. His eyes narrowed and out popped the “tough guy”.
“Benjamin, Did I not give you nearly a pound last week? What did you do with it? Spend it at the cat house again?” Cecil asked, his smooth silky voice gone, the deep gruff one taking its place.
Benjamin flinched. Great, not he’d done it.
“Yes, but you can’t deny that you wouldn’t have…” He stopped, Cecil was glaring at him.
“Benjamin, don’t make me say this twice: Release him and I will forgive you.” He said.
Benjamin seemed to hesitate before he let Nathaniel go. He wasn’t going to be killed because he had messed with Cecil. Cecil smiled and picked up Nathaniel. So he had ended up carrying him after all? Thank goodness the Maid now had a looser grip on his arm now. He began walking again.
“I’m sorry Young Master Nathaniel, but if I carry you, no one will bother you.” Cecil said, his “Caring guy” back in place. He walked on, glaring at the others while making sure no one touched him or Nathaniel, or Hannah. After a while he gently put Nathaniel down in front of a door. He opened and let Hannah guide Nathaniel in.
“Welcome back CC and Welcome guests!” about six servants (CC’s friends), said.
“Please get Nathaniel some cleaner clothes, Ben got him. Make sure that Hannah is the only one who changes him if he wishes. Also, make she gets some clothes also.” Cecil said in the dimly lit house.
“Yes CC anything else?” They asked.
“Dinner please… Maybe… Surprise us.” Cecil said as four servants(two girls two boys) grabbed and guided Nathaniel and Hannah to the appropriate rooms.
“I’ll await you two in the dining room. Beth, Flandre, Ron and Clyde, guide them there when they are done.” Cecil said before he turned and when into the dining room.
He sat at the table and put his chin on his hand. Toady had taken and unexpected turn hadn’t it? Normally something like that would never happen to him. Did he do something good in a past life or something? He sneezed. He looked back. Someone was talking about him.

(OOC: Sorry, it turned out quite long. I hope you won't die from reading it^^ Nathan had tightened his grip around his cane and had Cecil not stepped in he might even had hit the beggar, depending on how threatening the situation would have turned out to be. From their conversation, however, Benjamin seemed like a pretty harmless person – at least when Cecil was around. Judging from how they talked to one another the two of them seemed to know each other well, which left Nathan wondering what kind of person this Cecil actually was. He did not even know his last name and yet he had just gone ahead and trusted him without any further information. That was surely a first, and he realized that it would probably be the last time as well. Not that Cecil had done anything to betray his trust, quite the contrary. But it still made him feel uncomfortable, knowing that it was something he could not normally afford to do. When the beggar finally let go of his coat, Nathan breathed a sigh of relief. This relief disappeared, however, just a moment later when Cecil without warning picked him up and held him in his arms. Nathan was shocked. Never had he expected Cecil to be so bold and no matter what the reason, it was not enough to justify his act. Nathan breathed in deeply, doing his best not to lose his temper. “I thank you for your consideration, but I will be perfectly fine on my own. Would you be kind enough to put me down?” the earl spoke slowly from between his teeth, thankful that Cecil could not see the anger in his eyes. This was humiliating! He was not some kind of woman who needed to be carried around no matter what his handicap was. Cecil did not seem to share his opinions though. “I don’t wish to cause you any more inconvenience. I’m sure that it is quite heavy, having to carry me around like this.” Nathan was still trying to reason with him, though Cecil just assured him that it was alright and he was as light as a feather. Not that that made him feel any better. Nathan continued his protests as Cecil continued walking down the streets, not showing any sign of intending to put him down anytime soon. “Please. This is becoming rather embarrassing….” As a last desperate attempt, Nathaniel had resulted to pleading and was even showing it in his voice. He was even starting to seriously consider hitting Cecil with his cane in order to force him to let him go. But in the end that would just turn out unfavorable to him, as he was clearly capable of imagining how ugly his fall then would turn out to be. Instead he now turned his anger to his nanny, who he secretly continued to curse the rest of the way to Cecil’s house. At least Cecil was considerate enough to put Nathan down before they entered the house. That meant that they would not end up looking like a newlywed couple, with the groom carrying his bride over the doorstep. Nathan was painfully aware of the fact that that would make him the bride. The servants shouted their greeting in chorus and made it difficult for Nathan to determine just how many they were. He returned their greeting with a polite nod, once again wondering what kind of person this Cecil was – friends with beggars and owner of a house with servants. Very curious indeed. There would without a doubt be an interesting story behind all of this. For his servants to call him by a nickname had to mean that he was on good terms with them as well. Nathan allowed himself to be guided to his room and made it clear that he wanted to be alone with his maid for a moment. The servants accepted his request and left them alone in his room, while they were gone to fetch some clothes for both of them. When he was sure that they were finally alone he tore of the piece of cloth from his eyes. He blinked a couple of times with his crimson eyes trying to adjust to the light in the room. The furniture in the room appeared to be of good standards and he could not see any signs of dust anywhere – something which told him that this had to be a fine and well kept house. He walked over to the window and pulled the curtain aside, allowing himself to see the snow for the first time in a while. The weather was gradually becoming worse and the wind was wailing at him, making him wonder if they were actually going to face a snow storm after all. “Nanny, I must admit that I’m a bit disappointed with you, acting so selfish all of the sudden and causing me a lot of trouble,” the young earl said with a silky voice without even turning to face Hannah. He was still mad at her and intended to finally show it now when there was no one else around. “Ah, but the Young Master would have understood if you had seen his face – so handsome with his deep purple hair and eyes. He must be some kind of celebrity.” Hannah sounded very happy about the situation, which only served to make Nathan even more irritated. He slowly turned to face her, giving her an angry glare. “Well, I’m not going to see it am I? Do you have any idea of how humiliated I have been today!? First being knocked over by a person my nanny immediately falls in love with, then ending up being carried around like some woman of all things!” His voice quivered with anger, yet it did not seem to have any effect on the elderly woman who just tilted her head and looked at him with a motherly smile on her face. “Oh? To me it looked as if you were having fun. It’s been a while since you’ve felt that way hasn’t it?” Nathan opened his mouth to answer then snapped it shut once again soon after and looked away, unable to come up with a response. Was that really the way it had been? Hannah was one of the person’s who knew him the best, and she was the only one who really understood his feelings. She could even accurately tell how he was feeling when he was blindfolded, which was understandable as she had been looking after him since he was just a small child. Even his own mother was not able to do that. Maybe he really was having a good time? The sudden knock on the door cause Nathan to walk to the bed and sat down with a straight back and closed eyes. Hannah went over to open it. The servants had brought them their clothes and after Hannah had helped Nathan change, she went to her own room to do the same. The clothes were a little too big for him and different from what he normally wore. It was of good quality it was just a bit more… casual compared to what he was used to. When they had both changed, Cecil’s servants lead them to the dining room. As a change from before, Nathan was no longer blindfolded as he had noticed that the black silk fabric had become a little dirty though he had no idea when. He had made sure that there were no other stains on his face and hair before he left his room. He did make sure to shut his eyes, though, not intending to let anyone properly see them. On their way down the corridors Hannah suddenly spoke up. “My, I think that’s a piano I’m seeing over there. It’s sure been a while since I’ve heard the young master play.” “Do the young master play the piano?” the servant guiding them asked. If Nathan was not mistaken then the name of the servant was Clyde. He was one of the four who had showed them their rooms. Nathan smiled at the both of them. “Yes, it happens occasionally. But I am not an expert and it’s hardly any fun listening to it.” “Rubbish! The young master has talent. I’m telling you talent!” The old woman’s stubborn statement caused Clyde to laugh. “It sure is good to see CC bringing friends over. Normally he is the one running around visiting other people places.” Nathan continued his smile. Clyde struck him as a comfortable person to be around. “Cecil has been very generous with his hospitality and we are most grateful for it.” Clyde showed them into the dining room and asked Nathan to take place in front of Cecil. He guided the earl to his seat and took the cane that Nathan held towards him. Hannah sat down on his left side and they both looked at the young actor in front of them. “I’m sorry for keeping you waiting. I haven’t even properly thanked you yet for the kindness you have shown the both of us. Please accept my apology.” Nathan bowed his head slightly in order to emphasize, that his apology was sincere.

Cecil got a little curious as to what was taking Nathaniel and Hannah so long. He was also wondering who was taking about him. He had sneezed at least three tomes already. He got up and tip toed to the door as though he was some kind of stalker. Yes a stalker. He felt like one right now.
‘And its my house… Well kind of… I think its my house. She was nice enough to give it to me.’ Cecil thought as he heard Clyde’s voice.
Yes, did Nathaniel play? It would be nice to hear him. Apparently Hannah though that he could play. He wasn’r exactly a card at it himself, just sometimes it was fun to mess with the keys and make melodies to them. Clyde’s next sentence made him frown abit. ‘I’m not always at others' houses! Its about four times a week! Maybe five!’ Cecil thought as he mentally glared daggers at Clyde.
When he heard Clyde’s next sentence, he wanted to heal all the dagger wounds he had sent. He should have known that he was going to say something nice after that. Clyde wasn’t the type to talk about someone and not say one good thing about then after he had said something bad about them. He hopped away from the door as he heard their footsteps become closer. He walked quickly back to his seat and sat down, right before the doors opened. He watched as Nathaniel and Hannah walked on the other side of the table.
‘The clothes are a little too big… Maybe I’ll try to get Flandre to make to his size. Or I could… No, I’ll ask Flandre.’ Cecil thought before Nathaniel spoke to him.
“Oh, I wasn’t waiting long Young Master, Hannah. Please don’t worry yourselves over apologies or words of thanks. I should be thanking you for being in my company. I should also be the one apologizing. I caused this whole mess. I’m very sorry.” Cecil said with a bowed head. Clyde almost did an anime fall. No wait, he did. Since when was Cecil polite and so trusting to others?!
‘ Oh god! Please don’t let Hell break loose. It can freeze over, just don’t let it break loose!’ Clyde seemed to plead in his head.
He cleared his throat and walked over to Cecil and checked his forehead.
“You’re not running a Fever… Are you alright CC?” Clyde asked.
“ Perfectly.” Cecil said to his friend.
Clyde seemed to be relieved with that answer as he turned on his heel and went int the kitchen.
“Friends… Where would you be without them?” Cecil said as he watched Clyde high tail it out of there.
He laughed. Clyde was his first friend and he was acting like a father to him more than a friend. He sighed and looked at Nathaniel and Hannah once more. His eyes seemed to widen. When did Nathaniel take of his blind fold thingy?
‘ I guess this is what Beth meant when she said “You need to pay attention to things other than girls and boys faces! Pay attention to slight changes!”’ He thought in his mind as he imitated her voice.
Cecil smiled wider at the thought.
“ I hope so far everything will be to your liking… And later on also.” Cecil said.
He really hadn’t been used to talking “proper”. He was used to talking to Clyde in a slightly laid back voice.A shiver ran up his spine. It had gotten a little cold in there. He got up out of his seat and went to the fireplace. He put some wood in it and coke. Soon(After any tries) he flinted to glint stones correctly and had a fire going. He got up out of his squatting position and went into the kitchen.
“I’ll be right back.” He said as he walking inside, only to see what he had been expecting.
Absolute chaos.(OOC: Sound like a certain butler’s life we know?) Beth had slice her finger, Flandre looked as though she’d let the soup heat for far too long, Ron had mixed things that shouldn’t have been mixed, Clyde looked as though he’d burned himself with hot water… The only two who weren’t causing such a mess were the twins, May and Jay. The two red headed twins were making Curry. May was making the sweet chicken kind and Jay was making the spicey chicken kind. They each had just made their ninth one of each.
“Nice to see you..” May said.
“Nice to see well…” jay said,
“ Please enjoy your dinner with your guests Ceil.” They both said.
Cecil nodded and smiled at the two of them. So far, they were the only ones who’d dare call him by that name. They were probably able to get away with it because they were so cute.
“ Thank you and we will.” Cecil said before he grabbed a bottle of cider and all six plates.
He walked and almost dropped every thing. The twins shook their heads and grabbed three plates each and Clyde came over to get the bottle. Cecil sighed and held open the door for them. They walked in and sat two plates by each person. Clyde poured the cider and Cecil sat down.
“ Please help yourselves to either one. It was made by these lovely twins, May and Jay.” Cecil said as both twins bowed.
Cecil leaned back in his chair waiting on the other two to start eating.
‘ Curse my old habits.’ Cecil thought.
He smiled as he reached up and twirled his hair in his fingers. Today was surely an off day was it not?

A smile touched Nathaniel’s rosy lips as he listened to Cecil’s words. The young man in front of him turned out to have some really fine manners and was good at choosing his words. Had they met under other circumstances, he might even have mistaken Cecil for being a noble. Somehow he was sure he was not, though it was just a feeling he had mixed with instinct and the facts that he had been shown so far. None of the nobles he knew would allow their servants to address them by a nickname and certainly not in front of guest or rather strangers. It was just like how Nathaniel had been addressing Hannah by her given name whenever he was near Cecil or any of his servants. When they were alone he would address her as ‘Nanny’. It was all a matter of appearance. He could be wrong of course. If Cecil originated from the lower ranking nobles then that might cause him to act differently. Another factor speaking against Cecil being a noble was the fact that he had been leading Nathaniel and Hannah through the slums. That act itself was not something he could imagine anyone in his family wanting to do no matter what the circumstances were. To top it off Cecil even seemed to be known in the slums, not just as a famous person but someone who interacted with the people living there.
It was all just presumptions. The truth was that Nathaniel did not know anything about Cecil at all. The truth could be something entirely different from what he had thought it to be. That might be what was catching Nathaniel’s interest. Cecil seemed so much different from him and seemed to know some things about the society that he had had no chance to learn. It had shown in the way he had treated Benjamin, the beggar. Information and knowledge meant everything if you wanted to get more power. Maybe Nathaniel would be able to learn something from Cecil that could help him with running his company – not so much about running the business itself but more about the people working for it.
Nathaniel listened as Clyde expressed his concern for Cecil, though he was not sure what had caused it. Was Cecil looking pale? He had no way of knowing, but it did not seem to matter either as Cecil reassured that he was fine. As he spoke his comment about friends, Nathaniel nodded in agreement.
“Yes, friends are indeed a valuable resource.” Nathaniel instinctively associated the word friend with ally and allies was something he desperately needed if he wanted to climb to the top and survive in this world. Most of the people who wanted to become his ‘friend’ were people, who were after some of his status and wealth and who could see the advantages there were in befriending someone of his rank. Nathaniel could not care less. As long as they had something beneficial to offer in return, he would welcome them and play this game of friendship. The real trouble was those who wanted to get close to him in order to get rid of him and sorting these people from each other had proven to be a difficult task. For a moment he wondered if Cecil was just like the rest of them. Just another person who wanted to play his friend and just wanted to share some of his wealth. He would not know until later in the game. Nathaniel’s chest suddenly tightened. Was he… expecting something more than that? How very foolish of him.
“Yes, we have nothing to complain about and I am certain that it will remain that way the rest of our stay here,” Nathaniel responded to Cecil’s question, still keeping up the friendly tone in his voice. He listened as Cecil got up from his chair and started moving around in the dining room, lightened the fireplace and then disappeared out in the kitchen. All this moving around confused Nathaniel as he did not know how he was supposed to respond to it. At the same time his thoughts started to wander once again. He had not been fair to Cecil – he could at least give him the benefit of doubt. He would be able to afford that much. Nathaniel clenched his fists in his lap. Hannah noticed it at looked at the earl with worry in her eyes. In a low voice she asked if something was wrong, and Nathaniel answered in just as low a voice that there was nothing to be worried about.
Nathaniel heard the sound of the kitchen door opening as Cecil returned with the three servants. The servants stepped closer and placed the plates on the table in front of them. He heard the chink of the plates, the sound of liquid being poured into a glass and noticed the smell of curry. So we are supposed to choose between the two dishes? Nathan heard how Hannah picked up her cutlery and started trying out the two different kinds of curry. Soon after she started coughing.
“Young Master, you might want to stay away from the plate on your right. It’s a bit spicy. I’m not sure you would like it.” Nathaniel turned his head towards his nanny. “Well, I will not know unless I try it. You can’t expect me to turn down a dish without actually tasting it.” Hannah was most likely right but she was also the person who had taught him to always taste the food before turning it away. He was also stubborn enough to want to try out both of the dishes and was already planning to at least finish half of both of them.
He lifted his right hand and placed his fingertips on the table, tracing them over the surface while searching for his knife, finding it soon after. He did the same procedure with his left hand and found his fork, though first after having confirmed the location of the two plates. Then he tried out the curry on the first plate, which happened to be the spicy one. He felt how his throat started to burn, thirsting for water and his cheeks turning slightly rosy. He refused to give in and went ahead and tasted the contains of the other dish. It was significantly sweeter than the first one, but they were both very delicious. Nathaniel put down his knife and once again went on a search along the surface of the table. He found his glass and took a sip from it, the taste of cider filling his mouth and soothing his throat.
“My compliments to the chefs,” he said, smiling as he placed the glass back on the table. He decided to finish the first half of the spicy curry first, thinking it would be best to get it over with sooner rather than later. He did think that it was good, but on the other hand spicy food had never really been his favorite.
“Cecil, may I ask what you do for a living?” Nathaniel asked, deciding to get the small talk starting while they were eating their dinner.

Cecil almost, but not quite laughed at Hannah’s suggestion. Stay away from the spicy curry? That was the best one! Well, in his opinion it was. Come to think of it… He grabbed his spoon and dipped it into the spicy curry. He raised an eyebrow. This wasn’t spicy at all! This was slightly mild compared to what they normally made!
“Why we…” Jay said.
“Thank you…” May said.
“Very much Young Master.” They finished together.
Cecil shivered a bit. That had always crept him out for some reason! HE shook it off and looked at the three friends.
“Okay, you can go. I’ll take the plates up and clean them. You all need to eat and sleep.” Cecil said.
“Okay! You heard CC. Let’s go eat!” Clyde commanded.
Both twins nodded and pulled Clyde out of the room.
“We hope you enjoy your meals.” They said before they went through the kitchen door.
Cecil laughed a bit. They had said more tonight then in a year! That was saying something! He proceeded to eat before Nathaniel had asked him a question. He put the spoon down that had the sweet curry in it and smiled.
“What do I do for a living? That’s an interesting question… I act most of the time… Other times I’m found singing a little. So I’d guess I’d have to say Acting and singing, ne?” Cecil said as he thought about it more.
He really did act… a lot. Though be was always asked to sing when he had been murmuring a song. His head cocked to the side. Which was it? He enjoyed acting almost as well as singing. But he was known as Cecil “The Actor”. He could play any part there was to play! Then wouldn’t the singing count as acting? He frowned a bit… This was something to get lose upon thinking.
“I’m pretty sure I’m an actor.” Cecil said with a hint of confusion in his voice.
Curious, very curious. Then again he was a pretty good cleaner if he did say so himself… Maybe he’d play the part of “butler guy” soon. He smiled. Yes he would do that one day.
“Young Master, If I may as so bold as to ask… What do you do for a living? Did you take over your family’s business yet?” Cecil asked.
He knew all Heir had to take it over sometime or another. Maybe it was his turn now? But what if he had older siblings and he had to split it?
‘ That would be rough.’ Cecil though as he continued eating.
Maybe… He yelped. He had bitten his tongue. This is what he gets for thinking too much and eating.

Nathaniel smiled in the direction of the twins as they left the living room together with Clyde. He wondered it was a common trait among twins to be able to finish each other’s sentences. It seemed like a nice thought to have someone so close who truly understood you – but it would also make it significantly harder to stand out individually. Nathaniel turned towards Cecil, pondering about something he had said just a few minutes ago. He had offered to clean everything else up himself afterwards rather than having his servants do it. That was not something any noble would do either. Not that he minded, but imagining his mother doing something like that almost made him laugh. She would rather die!
The young earl listened closely as Cecil told about his job as an actor – and singer it seemed. “That’s it!” he blurted out without thinking. “Ah, I’m sorry but I thought that I had heard the name Cecil before, but I was not able to remember from where. My mother enjoys going to the theatre you see, and now that I think about it I’m pretty sure that she has mentioned you in one of our conversations.” In one of the few conversations we actually have. Though Nathaniel and Isabella never spoke much to each other, mainly due to his mother’s hatred for him they did seem to share a common interest in music and theatres. Whenever parties were being held they had to at least look like they were getting along and so the conversations were mostly about these subjects.
“If you are able to act and sing as a living then it must mean that you are good. I mean after all you are able to keep this house and so many servants at the same time. I’m sorry I did not intend to be rude.” Nathaniel tilted his head slightly as he continued. “So I presume that since you are using the words ‘pretty sure’ that means that you are not sure which one you like the most? Or is it that you are getting just as many jobs as both a singer and an actor?” Hearing that Cecil was an actor actually made him a bit relieved. That meant that he had not made a mistake when he chose to not call him a young master as well.
“But it’s so nice to hear that Cecil can sing! I would love to hear it!” Hannah quickly voiced her opinion while both Nathaniel and Cecil had a pause in their speaking. Nathaniel glanced to her side with closed eyes for a brief moment and then turned his head towards Cecil once again, preparing to answer his question.
“Well, I suppose the answer to that question requires a bit of an explanation. I have officially inherited the title of Earl of Callahan as well as the Callahan’s family business the CSC after my late father. Unfortunately when he passed away I was much too young to properly take care of the business and so my uncle has been running it in my place. I’m currently working on proving to him that I’m very much capable to run the business on my own.” That bastard already knows that! He is just too greedy to admit it! When Nathaniel mentioned his uncle the tone in his voice had turned slightly cold.
Nathaniel took another sip from the cider before he continued. “I am also currently the heir to the title of Marquis Sinclair. We Sinclairs are known for our ties to the military and have raised many officers during the years. Unfortunately, as you might have guessed already, my blindness has made me unable to participate in such matters. But we do have quite a bit of land that brings in a decent amount of money, and I will be in charge of this land when I inherit title of marquis. I hope that answers your question?” Nathaniel had been underestimating at some points, but he did not want to sound like he was bragging. Making Cecil fully aware of his status could prove to become dangerous, though he did not think that he had much to fear from the actor. He did not seem to be in need of money, which made it less likely that he would take advantage of Nathaniel being in his house to collect a ransom.
Cecil’s sudden yelp startled Nathaniel, as he had been concentrating on eating the curry on the plate in front of him. “Are you alright?” he asked, confusion marking his face.

Cecil had a few tears in his eyes before he spoke.
“ By Bit by bongue.” He said.
He could taste the metallic substance. He frowned at it. It hurt and tasted nasty.
‘Maybe this is why my father always seemed to bite his tongue at dinner.’ Cecil thought as he sucked on his tongue for awhile.
When he had decided he had gotten all of the blood out he became able to speck once more.
“I’m honored that your mother would bring me up in a conversation. Maybe it was one of the recent ones… “Hamlet” or “Sweeny Todd.” I have recently performed both. Thought I don’t think that I will be doing anything such as Sweeny Todd ever again.” Cecil said.
He laughed a bit before he heard Hannah speck once more. Didn’t the old lady, He meant to offense, get tired of speaking?
“ You may hear me sing later on tonight. The twins won’t go to sleep unless I do. Then it has to be on the piano you two saw earlier.” Cecil said before he put the spoon down.
That was the family’s piano, the only thing that he could claim because of his father’s stupid will!
“Ah yes, I would never double cross someone such as you Young Master! You are really a force to be reckoned with. Although, if you ever need any help trying to get your uncle to back down, everyone here will be happy to help… I assure you Young Master, you answered my question a little more than you needed to.” Cecil said.
Cecil really didn’t like the idea of talking too much about family. His was dead… Well, the only family he actually cares about was dead.
“You two know that piano you saw earlier? That was my family’s piano. I don’t play it much though. I really only play it because the twins ask me to.” Cecil said as he felt his eyes sting.
Damn! He was breaking out of character! His mother had shown him better than that! He wiped his eyes and put on another smile. He opened his mouth, but no words would come out. His throat was too tight. He focused on his “cool guy” and tried to make him surface, but he couldn’t at the moment. He looked at his hand and saw the tears. It had been awhile since he had cried, much less in front of people.
“ Apologize for the sudden behavior Young Master, Hannah. I don’t even know were it came from.” Cecil apologized.
He really didn’t. Normally when he mentioned the piano no such feelings would creep up on him. This time was different though and it scared him a little.
